I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Riverdam Boutique Hotel for a city break with some fellow archaeologist friends, and I must say, the experience was delightful! Nestled in the countryside, the hotel boasts a stunning location near the Thuringian Forest, perfect for outdoor enthusiasts like us-though we were greeted by chilly, rainy weather, the natural beauty still shone through, and we managed to spot some lovely birds around the area. The staff were incredibly accommodating, allowing us to borrow bikes to explore the beautiful paths around the lake. After a long day of cycling, we indulged in the restaurant's fantastic steak; trust me, it's a must-try! With free WiFi and a cozy private bathroom in our rooms, the Riverdam made for a perfect retreat after our adventures. It was a wonderful blend of nature, great food, and a warm atmosphere that I'd highly recommend for anyone seeking not just a place to stay, but a vibrant experience in nature.
